Here are some of our suggestions:
– Hiking trails with good views and/or waterfalls – I would strongly suggest to rent a bike and go biking – there are 100s of miles of terrain to explore. As for the waterfalls, there is a beautiful waterfall called Brandywine Falls 20 km before Whistler – more info here http://www.whistlerhiatus.com/whistlerhikes/brandywine-falls.html
– White water rafting – there is rafting on Squamish and Chekamus river, you can check where and how to book it in one of many local tourist agencies, or even online
– Spa day – one and only Scandinave Spa http://www.scandinave.com/en/whistler/spa-resort-experience/?gclid=CjwKEAiArdG1BRCLvs_q-IObwxMSJACXbLtzFl6W0Ll7B9OPTOjwfOzJ86Vw_CblFcBHHw6x03zHIxoCRMPw_wcB
– Peak to Peak experience – you can get tickets in Whistler or purchased them online on http://www.whistlerblackcomb.com/. This site is the official website of the resort where you can book and rent most of the activities you would like to explore
– Vodka tasting or brewery tour – there is no such thing, but hit the local pubs, there are pretty good
– Kayaking – check the site http://www.whistlerblackcomb.com/, there is kayaking on the lakes, and also on local Callaghan Creek.
– Restaurants & Pubs – from our listing:
There are lots of restaurants in the village, close to trails, where you can have a taste of world cuisine. Our personal favourite is Elements Urban Tapas: http://www.elementswhistler.com/Elements_Urban_Tapas_Parlour/Welcome.html. La Cantina is also a great choice for tacos and it’s only a few minutes away from our townhome (next to IGA Marketplace): http://tacoslacantina.ca/. Some nice meal options are in this blog post: http://www.whistler.com/blog/post/2012/02/27/whistlers-best-meals.aspx. If you like pastries, you should definitely pay a visit to the Pure Bread at the Olympic Plaza: http://www.purebread.ca/.
A local Whistler magazine publishes a list of the best in ‘eat and drink’ category and here’s their selection: http://www.piquenewsmagazine.com/whistler/food-and-drink/Content?oid=2541401.
This website has all the bike trails in Whistler: http://whistlerbikeguide.com/trails, but I would recommend to go to Lost Lake and bike / hike there. And also explore other lakes: Alta and Nita, as there are trails connecting the two, but also with village. You can find some maps in our place, but also at Whistler Info offices.
If you have a chance, take a Peak-to-Peak gondola – With two mountains, mind-melting vistas, 50+ km of trails, and more wonder than ever imaginable, the PEAK 2 PEAK 360 Experience is the launching point for many unique summer adventures in the alpine region. Every month brings something new – more info here – http://www.whistlerblackcomb.com/discover/360-experience.
